Our Friday night dinner party went fabulously! Our guests, good friends, left at 10:30 PM and we went straight to bed. I woke up this morning with our Saturday evening on my mind. I had a lot to do. I had to clear up from last night and start my Bolognese sauce! Here is the recipe. I have made it before and it is heavenly. I highly recommend getting Deb Mazar and Gabriele Corcos’s new cookbook Extra Virgin. I usually get my cookbooks for Kindle but I had to have the hard copy of this cookbook. It is gold in recipes.
After I got my Bolognese sauce simmering I made a Lemon Cream Pie. I have to say this was a very simple pie to make and just test tasting it assured me that it had a lovely infused flavor of lemon and it is on a ginger snap crust. Here is the recipe. I can’t wait to serve it! Later today I will make the Besciamella for the Lasagna. Way before guests arrive I will put it all together and have it ready to pop in the oven. I have my table set a little more elegant for tonight and it is very pretty. I am using my silver horse napkin rings and my wine glasses etched with horses. Setting a table for me is a form of art and I enjoy it so much.
