Boyfriend Jeans

Got Casual?

The Scoop

I went shopping the other day to see what was new in the shops and find inspiration for the blog. I was inspired for a few minutes but still struggling with feeling any fashion vibes. I keep trying so hang in there with me and maybe I’ll snap out of it.

I went to a shop that I have been buying clothes from since I was in my twenties. It’s called Maurices. It is close enough to walk to from our condo and never overloaded with clothes so you don’t feel overwhelmed. It was just the place for me to relax, try on some things, chat with the nice staff and find inspiration.

I saw this denim shirt and although I have several, it was fresh, a fabulous color and perfect fit. Then I came across button fly boyfriend jeans that are “fall right off loose” and I thought they made a great couple, so Bingo, they came home with me. They were both 50% off too.

Once I got back to the condo, I pulled another pair of boyfriend jeans out of my closet and put together a few outfits with different tops and shoes.

Look One

These are the jeans and shirt from Maurices. I wore my orange pumps and carried my leopard clutch. I wore a statement necklace that if you read my blog much you know I have had for probably 20 years. It is a one of a kind and sort of my signature necklace.

Look Two

I am wearing a shirt tied at the waste and a pair of Marc Fisher wedges in a deep blue color. Again with the leopard bag. I wore my bar necklace that has my grandma name, “Coco” and silver earrings.

all red 8.JPG

Look Three

These boyfriend jeans are several years old from “Nasty Gal.” I remember when I ordered them I was embarrassed to pick them up at the post office due to the name. But they are fabulous jeans! I wore a coral striped shirt, carried my Ark bag and wore another pair of Marc Fisher wedges. For jewelry I wore a Chico’s necklace that I have had a long time.

Look

de jour

the scoop

After the overalls look from Monday which I am still not sure how I feel about I dressed for today staying in my comfort zone. This look is probably the type of style that I am most comfortable wearing. I love the relaxed fit of the flared trouser jeans, the crispness of the white long-sleeved white tee and the classic look of the navy and white cardigan. I wore a pair of tan booties and carried my leopard clutch. For jewelry I wore a pair of white earrings and my initial necklace. Everything in this outfit is old, like many years old except the white tee. I have had these trouser jeans (I have three pairs) for probably five years. The sweater is that old at least maybe more. My booties are four years old and my bag is a couple of years old. It just shows that when you buy classic pieces they never go out of style and are worth the investment.

Let me know what are you most comfortable wearing? Do you ever go outside your style box?

I’m linking my exact necklace and bag as well as similar tees and jeans.

comfort 10.JPG

My Look

My jeans were purchased at the Loft, my tee from the Rack and my cardigan is INC from Macy’s. My booties were bought at Nordstrom, the brand is bp. My Clare V bag was also purchased at Nordstrom. My earrings came from Target last winter and my necklace is from the Rack. I will see how many of these items I can find or at least something really similar to link for creating your own look!

Here I am linking some navy and white cardigans, similar booties to what I am wearing!

Overalls

Fun with

overalls

The Scoop

Bare with me while I have a little fun with fashion. I have been wanting a pair of overalls now for about a year. I used to wear them and found them to be comfortable. I wanted a pair that was fit (not too baggy), had something distinctive about them and were cropped. This pair met all my requirements. I wish I would have sized down one more size but these will be fine. I can see so many ways to style them all through spring and summer.

My Look

This is a look I would wear hanging around the house, or exploring festivals or flea markets. I wore my overalls with a white tee and styled them with two different shoes, a pair of casual heels and a pair of platform sneakers. I carried my orange cross body bag to finish the look.

Arizona Vibes

The Scoop

I’v been in Arizona for a week now and starting to get into a groove. It has been hectic, both my dogs got sick and it took some work to get the condo in shape. The weather has been record breaking cold but still warmer than Idaho. We have worked in a few hikes and I have started running more consistently. The dogs are all better now and today will be in the upper 60s so I see fun in my near future!

Create Your Own Look

Here are some fabulous New Takes on an old trend!

So many sales on OTKs right now. I am drooling over the first pair. I love that the heel is brown! It’s such a fabulous contrast!

Give me all the orange bags! I have more than my share of orange bags but these are so closet worthy!

I have bralettes in so many colors and wear them almost daily.

_ Albert Einstein

My Look

I have to say I am so bored with fashion right now. I have been for most of the year but winter fashion holds very little intrigue for me. I am not sure if I am changing or if the fashion world is in a rut but I am leaning more toward sweat pants and sweat shirts these days. I’m trying to live by the words of Albert Einstein by keeping the fun in fashion and maybe that will help me over my hump!

One thing fun about only being here in Arizona for a few months each year is everything I leave in my closet feels new again. I didn’t remember leaving the pieces of this look here but thought it created a nice sort of Arizona vibe. My top is a thrift shop find, a Michael Kors brand. It is sheer and has a tie at the neck and buttons up the front. I wore a black lace bralette underneath. I wore it with dark blue leggings and these fun OTK boots. To top it off my third piece was this fun orange bag. It is my favorite bag right now because of the color and the over the shoulder style which makes it perfect for roaming around town exploring the beautiful city of Phoenix.

Seasons Of My Life

new year 7.JPG

Autumn

my favorite season

The Scoop

Happy New Year gang! I hope you had a fabulous holiday season. Mine was fine but I am so ready for new beginnings. I never look back, only forward and if I look really close I can see hope and joy. But there are some unknowns.

You see, I break my life up into seasons. The early years, birth to twenty 25 were like spring, fresh, new, a time to learn. Then from about 25 to 50, I felt like my life was summer. Warm, a time to nurture others, continue to learn and bask in the potentials of future. At about 50 I feel like I moved into the autumn of my life. My favorite time so far. I have let go of some of the need to nurture others and spend more time taking care of myself. I feel I am stronger mentally and physically than in the spring of my life and more confident than summer. Like the seasons, I want autumn to never end. I am not certain when I will enter my winter season. I know physically a lot of the decline that comes with aging can really show up in the 70s. The winter season for me is where the unknown is lurking. When will I start needing more support? When will I notice physical decline that can’t be reversed? When will I look in the mirror and see a stranger? Or will any of that happen? Questions, there are many to answer or not. I plan to put one foot in front of the other and continue this journey with a grateful heart. I wake up every day thinking anything can happen and it could be wonderful!

Resolutions Not

This is the first year I can remember where I did not make resolutions. I decided to be reckless and wing it! That is a big deal for a Type A person. I did wake up feeling renewed in a way that only the start of a new year can make me feel. I put on my old workout clothes and prepared for a morning run.

We are in Arizona now for a few months and it is cold for this part of the country. Close to freezing at night and highs in the 40s the first few days here. The forecast looks to be sunny and warmer though with each passing day. Anyway, I have three layers on here to keep me warm for my run. And since it has been muddy and raining I am wearing all old things saving my new active wear for nicer weather. And I can’t wait.

I haven’’t run consistently for a while so I wasn’t sure how it would go. But five minutes in I was feeling the old elated feeling that running brings me. Joy was in my heart and I was thinking of potentials and positives rather than the gloom and doom swirling around this old world right now. I went two and half miles and everything was working fine. It was the best way to start the first day of the new year.

In my mom’s words

Cheryl only has two speeds, running and asleep.

My Look

I’m wearing Adidas leggings, Nike running shoes, a long sleeved white tee, pink pullover and black active wear jacket and my iWatch. Everything is old but I am linking some great options.

Breakfast of Champions

Well my breakfast anyway. Ha ha! Lately I have been enjoying this meal after a run or hike. It is very healthy and so good. I get the big bags of frozen berries which are supposed to be even more nutritious than fresh and add a cup to a half cup of Greek yogurt, fresh walnuts and a couple tablespoons of wheatgerm. Mix it up and enjoy!

the scoop

This is my last post for the year! I am taking the rest of December to celebrate the holidays with my family and friends. I also have to get us packed and ready to head to Arizona for a few months. I have so much to do and am really excited. I’ve learned to prioritize this blog and put it away when I have more important things to do. So for now I’ll sign off and see you next year!

ugg 8JPG.JPG

my look

The is one of my favorite outfits for when I am having a quiet day at home. I love to be comfy and warm while the snow is flying outside. I got these lounge pants and thermal tee at Walmart and love them so much I got them in several colors. I got my lace bralette and Ugg slippers at Costco last year. If you watch Costco they may get these slippers in again this year. They also have Ugg dupes that are really nice.

end of year projects

I have a lot of little things I like to do to tidy up my life at the end of a year. One is to clean out my closet. I began that process this week. Anything I haven’t worn or used this year is neatly packed up and taken to the consignment store or Good Will. It feels so good to get rid of clutter and share things with others that might like them for a while. I am even getting rid of a bunch of handbags that I thought I would never let go. But they just sit in their covers in the closet so its time to find them a new home. I am loving all the extra space I am seeing.

Sunshine On My Shoulders Makes Me Happy

black dress 8.JPG

the scoop

So disregard my hair in these pictures, I didn’t feel like messing with it and I was really just trying on outfits for our Christmas party this weekend. I want something fun, different and warm since we will be in the mountains. Above all since I am hosting, I have to be comfortable. I have tried on several things and still haven’t come up with what I want but I did like this look so I thought I would share it. I would wear this if I were not hosting but as a working host I need less fuss.

We got our final RSVP list and it looks like between 35 and 40 guests so we decided to ask our pianist to play the piano for us again this year. I had thought we would just play music but having a local musician has become kind of a tradition. I am putting real pine trees on each side of the front door and using real wreaths to decorate a couple of windows and laser lights to decorate the front of the house. It will all be very simple but festive.

these boots

Hands down these are my favorite boots for this season. I wanted to buy them last season but they went out of stock so when I saw them on sale late this fall I snapped them up. They go with everything. They are out of stock but there is a new version that I will link. The thing I love the most about them is the wood heels.

black dress 11.JPG

lbd

I took my little black dress that is sleeveless and added the warmest brightest sweater I had. I think yellow is a fun out of the box color to add to a holiday party look. Next I added my boots because I love the contrast of the brown boot with the black dress. I carried my leopard clutch that is probably the best investment I have ever made on a bag because I use it a lot and it is holding up perfectly. Plus this bag is the perfect neutral to go with everything. I wore a necklace that is several years old to add a little gold bling and that was that. Fun, warm, comfortable and a little out of the box.

I’m linking my exact dress including the long sleeve version. I’m also linking my boots (this years version on sale now) and I think the same boots in black are fabulous also on sale! I’m linking sweater options, a pretty yellow one but wouldn’t the red be perfect for the holidays. And the purple is a trending color right now that will take you through spring and is so different and pretty for the season. I’m linking my exact bag too.

Free People Meets Ugg in Le Boutique

free people 13.JPG

le Boutique . . .

the scoop

I have a little room in my home that was going to be an office. It has french doors and is perfectly square with one big window. It is only 8’ by 8’ so I decided to make it le boutique. I set it up like a little store with a big mirror in the corner with stainless hanging racks and stainless shelves around the room. I need to change out the light fixture but otherwise it is the perfect inspiration room for a blogger. I put all my new and favorite things in this room and plan outfits for blog posts. One day I would like to do little videos showing my fashion favorites. As soon as I get the lighting right I’ll show you more.

free people 8.JPG

Free People Meet Ugg

the two were meant to be.

my look

My fair isle sweater is by Free People and old. I have it in cream too because I love the coziness and look of an over sized fair isle sweater. I just got these fabulous Ugg hiking boots and thought they would make a cute outfit with the sweater. As usual I bounced around my house like Tigger trying to find good lighting for pictures. I got one outside but it was too dark and I wasn’t staying outside for more since it was only 16 degrees. I wore an old pair of skinny jeans and this look was complete. My only jewelry was silver big hoop earrings.

I have the first three pairs of boots and love them. I added options for ideas!

Red and Black Buffalo Check

red 1.JPG

the scoop

Nothing says cozy like a fuzzy pullover, especially when it is in red and black buffalo check. We got our first snow here in the Boise area and it is friggin cold! Our highs this week are not going to get above freezing. I can’t wait until the end of the month when we move like gypsies and head to Arizona for a few months. Meanwhile I will enjoy the winter weather and find the best in my environment. I’m getting to eat more to fuel my body, wear all my fun winter boots and cozy up in the house with my hubby and puppies.

We’re hosting our annual Christmas party on the 15th so I am planning for that. We hold it at our mountain house so I haven’t decorated or anything there yet. I am keeping it simple this year with fresh wreaths and laser lights. Instead of having a piano player we are going to play soft music in the back ground. It always seems hard to talk over a piano playing although we did love the festive element having a piano playing in the background provided. But I want to change things a little this year. We provide the drinks and everyone brings a dish so it will be an easy event to plan. Can’t wait to see everyone!

my look

The star of the show for this look is my top. It is one I got a few weeks ago when I shopped at Walmart. This is the cutest top too. So warm and cozy and just the right weight so you can wear it around the house without getting too hot. It comes in three colors and I love them all. I wore this top with skinny jeans and an old pair of over the knee boots that I pushed down for a slouchy boot look. The boots were the second pair of over the knee boots I ever got and they are not tight around the thigh so they want to slip down anyway. You could wear this top with leggings and sneakers or lounge pants and slippers. It is really versatile!

red 4.JPG

create your own look

This top is on sale for 25.99 and I really want it in more colors. It is a perfect everyday top but you could really dress it up for a party too. It is an over sized fit and tts (I am wearing s). Showing all colors below.

Hands down my favorite brand for skinny jeans is 7 For All Mankind the Guenevere style. Linking those but look at the hem of the second pair SO CUTE. I always get my jeans at the rack on sale.

don’t forget the boots

Slouchy or boots that just hit the knee are so fun this season and something different than the over the knee. Mine are old Micheal Kors but I’m linking some fabulous boots that are slouchy or just hit the knee and all on sale. You may have a pair of over the knee boots that you can push down like I’m doing in this look.

Watch Out

Bonne FêteNationale (1).jpg

the scoop

I hope you all don’t get sick of my harping on fitness but it has always been a big part of my life and now as I grow older I am even more obsessed with health. I don’t necessarily want to live long but I want to live well. I don’t want to become a burden to someone else or society if I can help it. Just because I am over 50 doesn’t mean I can’t look and feel my best. I want to breath air into my lungs, skip, jump and laugh until I close my eyes for the last time.

Recently I found a little tool that after using it for a week or so I see really making a difference. It’s a sports watch! I talked about it in my last post here, but in this post I wanted to give you a little more detail.

apple watch

I got an Apple Watch and love the look but also I am seeing how it motivates me to think about a healthy lifestyle. It reminds me to breath and guides me through one minute breathing sessions gently tapping my wrist as I take air into my lungs and then exhale. Do you ever think about how good it feels to really exhale? All the stress is shoved out of my body.

The big thing though is that this watch tracks how much I stand, my exercise, my heart rate, my steps and even the flights of stairs I take each day. It lets you set goals and then see how you do. At first I set low goals and just went though my normal day. When I saw what I had achieved I started competing with myself and see myself improving each day. It is fun!

Let me show you an example through a couple of screenshots of a day in my life.

  • The first picture is showing how many hours I stood in one day. And yes, I never sit for long but I was surprised at how little I sat that day. Yesterday is showed I was standing 12 hours and I was idle 2. That doesn’t count the night sleeping. I turn it off at night. Below it shows my steps and distance. This is a normal day for me, I didn’t go for a walk or run just normal house work, dog walking, etc. It also showed my distance for the day. I did go to the gym and do strength training but I haven’t set up tracking for that yet.

  • The next picture shows calories used. I set an easy goal of 240 extra calories to burn that day. It showed I went over my goal and it also shows total calories used that day just doing my normal routine. This is such great information and when I saw it I instantly decided to try to challenge myself.

  • Another perk I didn’t expect is that I give myself a break now knowing I am doing more than I thought. I always worried I wasn’t doing enough.

See why I love this watch so much? These screen shots are from a couple of days ago.

The first watch linked is exactly like mine. Linked options so you can compare styles.

Dress For Success

It doesn’t always mean for the office, it means in all parts of your life.

my looks

I always want to dress fun for working out because it really does motivate me. My goal is to be strong and to feel good and I surround myself with all the tools I can to live that lifestyle. I love leggings especially black because they go with everything. I love over sized sweatshirts because you can layer them and pull them off if you get warm while moving. I love different sneakers for different things. Asics are best for me for running. I can have knee pain but virtually don’t if I wear this brand. I heard Hoda Kotb say that once and tried them and she was right. For other activities I love New Balance sneakers. And of course Niki’s are the lightest weight shoes ever. Hats just add a little spunk to a look and covering up a bad hair day is never a bad thing.

create your own look

In these pictures I am wearing all old stuff. Zella leggings (my favorite) Black sneakers are Niki and the other pair is ASICS. My grey sweatshirt was DIYed for off the shoulder, inspired by the other one that came that way. See this top in red here where I make fun of the Blogger Things I Do. I’m linking some fun things for you! Don’t be afraid to be you and do you!

My Christmas Present, Designer Tree & Blush Style

pink 4.JPG

All I want for

Christmas . . .

the scoop

A lot is going on here in this post but I have a lot to share as you can see in my too long title. My husband got me my Christmas present early because he is sweet. Also because it was something I have been wanting for a while and felt like I needed right now to keep me motivated in my fitness endeavors.

So what did he get me? An Apple watch, the newest series with the sport band (series 4). I never got on the Fitbit wagon because I was always happy with just carrying my phone when I ran. I don’t buy a new phone each year I am still using the iPhone 6 Plus going on four years now and it still works perfectly. But recently my walking partner showed me her Apple watch and I started researching and thought this is something that would be so useful for me. No carrying a big phone while working out. And gang, it is so pretty! I do so many things with it and have only had it a few days.

It works with the running app I have had for many years (RunKeeper) where I have tracked 1,559 miles of running, it plays my music that I have collected on my iPhone since 2005 (iTunes) and it is a phone so I can take and make phone calls right from my wrist. This is heaven for me since it seems I get the most calls while making dinner.

It has a breathing app that reminds me to stop and take 60 seconds to focus on breathing. It gently taps my wrist as I breath in and out. It has the nutrition tracker that I have used for several years (MyFitnessPal) and I can even take and send text messages easier than on my phone.

Well the list goes on, it tracks my heart rate, will call help if I fall and don’t respond, gives me the weather and more. I would say if you are on the fence, get off! It’s an investment that is worth the money.

Linking Apple watch options. The first one is mine. I love the bands on these others too. You can pick these up at Costco last I looked but they were selling out fast.

pink 2.JPG

designer tree

One Saturday night a few weeks ago I was bored. I was having a glass of wine and watching YouTube videos of how to decorate a designer tree. Well I decided I was going to do my own. I pulled out all my old stuff bought new ribbon and a few stems from Michael’s and a designer tree was born. I am so in love with it too.

I went with a red and white theme. I wish I would have added more lights and will do so next year. For big ornaments I used some of the things I normally would hang on walls, doors or something like that. I also used our Christmas Stockings as ornaments. The pictures don’t show how really pretty it turned out.

I cut the 2.5 inch ribbon in strips of about 1.5 or 2 ft, and then tucked them up in the tree in a random pattern. I stuck the stems up in the top in place of a tree topper.

Linking the Ribbon and Stems I got for my tree this year. Everything else was old.

This active wear look was inspired by my new watch. Ha! Pink! I wore white jeans, pink sneakers and a pink and cream colored pull over. In keeping with the neutral look I carried my LV Never Full GM.

Ugg Style

ugg

Boots

the scoop

I have two pairs of Uggs and a third on the way. One pair of slippers and these fabulous snow boots and a pair I just ordered on sale that are perfect for everyday in cooler weather. I love me some Ugg! With this brand I have to be selective because I don’t love all the styles but when I find a style I like I really like them a lot! I always get them when they are on sale and they are super high quality so you get your money’s worth in wear over the years.

my look

These boots look good with so many things but I decided to wear them with leggings. I went with a black column which I say, when in doubt, start with a column. You all know what I mean by a column. You wear a top and pants in the same color creating a column type of look. From there you build and create so many fun looks. I added these boots and a vest in a black and white almost hounds tooth design. For more warmth I topped it off with a beanie.

Column

just a pair of black leggings with a black tee.

create you own look

I’ll start with the boots. I got mine on sale a while back and adore them. The second pair I am linking I just ordered and are 33% off. These styles are really trending right now. I’m linking other options too.

complete your look

I am loving vests this season. They are a great third piece for any outfit. See more about the third piece here. I love them to be just a little fitted to accentuate the waist. You can get these for fabulous prices at Ross, Marshals, TJMax, Target, etc.

To create a column (see more about column dressing here and here) try basic black leggings and tees. I’m linking my exact tee. It comes in many colors and I wear it in black or white several times a week. My favorite leggins are Zella and I’m linking them also. I prefer the shorter ones. See more outfits with leggings here (in leather) here and here. And don’t forget to have fun with beanies! I have a few of theses linked and love them. See how I wear them here, here and here.

Good Reads

I always love to share good books to read and here is a trilogy! Michael B. Koepʼs final installment in The Newirth Mythology Trilogy brings a psychologist face to face with his greatest fear: madness. On the other side of the world, a professor of mythology struggles to interpret a sudden shift in the historical timeline, the mysterious discovery of the ruins of an ancient city and the anomalous nature of Locheʼs writing. Just click on the picture to link to more about this book.

My Walmart Haul

cozy 14.JPG

A Few Things

from Walmart

the scoop

I kind of hate Walmart. What they have done to the family dairy farmers and the way they shut down small town America really makes me mad. I know because I lived in a town where they run every local business out until now they are about the only store left. And that is only the beginning of the complaints I have about them. Until recently I’ve barely set foot in a Walmart for years. But the damage is done, they are too big to beat and now many communities are dependent on them. So when I started seeing a lot of things being shown on YouTube and other blogs I thought I would go in and see what I could find.

I found if you look closely you can find some fun things for good prices. I also found that there are some really poor quality and sloppy products. So check everything out closely. I bought a package of boxers for sleeping in a size small and one pair was a large. I also got a cute lounge wrap that had a big hole in it. In this post I will show you some fun finds that would be great gifts for others or yourself. Just check each item out before you pull the tag.

first look

This 3/4 zipper faux Sherpa top is so cute! The one I grabbed was well made. It has a soft inside so can be worn as a top but you can layer it too. It comes in several colors and is a very popular style. I wore it with skinny jeans and boots. I sized up to a medium so I think they run small.

I couldn’t find my exact one online but I think they are in stores still. I found some fabulous options online that I didn’t see in the stores. I’m linking those.

second look

I am always looking for comfy joggers that hold up to lots of wear. These fit those requirements perfectly. They are true to size and so comfortable. I wore them with a thermal top, lace bralette and Ugg slippers.

Linking same pants with two types of leg openings. I couldn’t find exact tee online but I think they are still in stores. The brand for both is Time and Tru. Linking a couple other thermal tops though. Also linking my exact slippers.

third look

This is a fun look but the only thing from Walmart is the thermal tee. The vest just set the tee off right. I added pair of flares and this was my favorite look of the week.

For this look I am linking same jeans (on sale) and top (the top is limited in sizes but might be in stores). I’m linking cute vests and other thermal top options. You can find similar vests in all the stores these days.

Wishing You A Happy Holiday

I will be taking next week off of blogging so I can reflect on the holiday and enjoy time with family and friends. We’re hosting dinner and I am going to have fun with it and put away technology for a few days. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Dress The Part

No Snow

yet . . .

the scoop

Bet you can’t guess where we’ve been. Yep, back in the mountains. We spent a few days there and I got lots of pictures. It was cold but not much snow. Hardly any really! I imagine that will change any day now. I am ready for a little of the white stuff actually.

Right now I have a fire starting in the fireplace and am watching three little deer munch on the grass in the back yard. Such a country life feel!

my look

I decided that since my days of dresses in this weather are almost done for this year I better put one on. This dress is a fabulous sweatshirt dress with a hood and a tulip hem. Not really stylish but oh so cozy. I wanted outdoor pictures so I put on a pair of fun winter boots and headed out. This is how you dress in a dress in the mountains! There is something cozy about a snuggly dress to hang around inside when winter is howling outside.

  • By the time you read this post we will be heading down the mountain.

  • I have to start getting the house prepped for Thanksgiving dinner.

  • I haven’t made a turkey for a few yeas so that will be a challenge. And I love a challenge!

  • I am taking back little pine trees from our land to put in my pots on the front porch. I think they will be so cute and bring some of the beautiful pine scent to our home.

Tricking My Old Body

exercise 2.JPG

Change

does me good.

the scoop

I have always been into eating right and exercising. Nothing over the top but consistent. I have tricks up my sleeves that worked for me when I put on a few pounds. They were never fail until recently. My body is saying I know what you are up to and I am not going to go along with it. So I decided to try something new. My new plan is to trick my body! Ha ha!

How? Well, I now do something different every single day. So my body never knows what the heck is going on. Nothing earth shattering. Just one day I walk, one day I run, one day I weight train just one muscle group or one day I work my whole body through circuit weight training. Some days I clean the garage and some days I rearrange all our furniture.

I like this plan because I don’t get bored and I can always find something to do. My body has seen it all. All I have left is the element of surprise. And I can report that I am very strong. My husband is freaked out by the things I can lift. And my heart is strong. I can run for long distances without hardly breaking a sweat. I have a problem with a thick waist but I am on the case. My motto is move it or lose it!

my look

One of the things I know for sure is that I feel more fit when I wear fitness clothing. This outfit is all older things but I love these floral leggings and this longer black tee with a twist front. I have a little bomber jacket for when I am outside and basic black sneakers. All of this is old but I have been collecting active wear for years and love to dress for all occasions. Even exercising. You know, fake til you make it!

  • It’s Friday and I am going to take the day off and relax. Maybe watch an old movie.

  • My friend and I worked for several hours on our YouTube video yesterday and it was so fun. We are learning from the ground up and the one thing we know for sure is that we have a lot to learn.

  • For dinner I am making my favorite Butternut Squash Soup with Chipotle Cream. Here is the recipe.

  • I added a Holiday Shopping Guide link up top and will be updating it often. Tis the season!

I always buy active wear on sale so I’m linking up some options for you.
