Natalie Attired-The Mini Series-Part Deux

THE SCOOP

Be sure to read part un here, of this mini series for the scoop on what my little blog mini-series is all about! Short story, I am test driving Natalie Attired (A personalized, convenient, fun "try before you buy" clothes shopping experience for women. Based on your unique style profile, they will send you a collection of five coordinates from a wide variety of quality contemporary brands to create the looks you'll love.) and this car will be staying in my drive!

THE OUTFIT

For this outfit I again wore the thyme colored pull-on pants but added the second top sent to me. It was the only piece that I thought I might have to send back. It is an over sized tunic and the fit just about over whelmed me. But the print and colors are so gorgeous I was determined to find ways to make it work. Without much thought I decided to tie a knot in the front and viola! It was perfect. This time I wore my Mexican Fire Opal because it matched my top perfectly. Same shoes and hat but a clutch this time and another outfit for going out or staying in was created!

Further down you will get another sneak peak at the dress Natalie Attired sent me. I want to tell you more but dolls, I'm saving it for the cliff hanger on Friday so stay with me!

Here is another peek at the dress I've been teasing! This top is so versatile! The booties in this outfit below are so fun. They have a masculine look but have velvet shoe strings giving them a feminine touch! Fashion designers are brilliant! I styled the top with this dress two ways, one with a belt and one where I knotted the front.

Thanks for stopping by! See you Friday for the mini-series finale/cliff hanger!

Peace!

Hello Natalie Attired-The Mini Series-Part Un

THE SCOOP

So here's the scoop! I am so excited to introduce you to Natalie Attired. A personalized, convenient, fun "try before you buy" clothes shopping experience for women. Based on your unique style profile, they will send you a collection of five coordinates from a wide variety of quality contemporary brands to create the looks you'll love.

And gang, that's what happened, they sent me the box! I am a self-described fashionista; I love fashion and everything that goes along with it. But to be honest, I don't enjoy going into physical stores. I would say 90% of my closet was purchased online.

When Natalie Attired told me they would pick out things I would like after I completed a profile, I kind of doubted they could get me just right. But gang, they did! I could have sent back anything I didn't want at no cost to me but every single thing they sent had me squealing!  My only challenge was to contain myself as I mixed and matched one outfit after another!

So this week I am doing a mini-series so I can show how much fun I had and that Natalie Attired truly GOT ME! Make sure you check in on Wedneseday and Friday to see all the things they sent and all the ways I styled them.

THE OUTFIT

So when I opened the box I found two tops, a jacket, a pair of pants and a DRESS (so much to say about the dress later in the mini series). Everything was so my colors! I have a distinctive set of colors that I love and have in my closet and all over my home. Warm earthy, rich yummy colors were in this box.

For my first outfit I wore the thyme colored pants. They just pulled on, covered my tummy completely and fit perfect while being totally comfortable. I added one of the tops and a pair of my booties and was so happy with the look that I had to add my fisherman's cap. I wore a piece of butterscotch Amber from my jewelry collection and carried one of my favorite bags and Ta Da! A hit for me!

Scroll down to see where I added the jacket they sent. This jacket will be a piece I will wear constantly. It is this amazing fabric that holds its shape but has stretch. It has zipper details on the sleeves and pockets which I adore and is an almost gun metal color!

Last, check out the first glimpse of the dress they sent. I don't want to give away too much but I can say I styled it in a least six ways and could have done more.

As always gang, thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for Wednesday's post, part deux of the mini-series.

Peace!

Almost Didn't Happen

MY OUTFIT

These boots arrived at my door late Saturday evening while I was visiting my granddaughter and family. I got home so late I didn't get to open the package and then Sunday came and we were so busy running around shopping and then I cleaned the condo and put pizza dough together to start rising and one thing led to another until I wasn't sure I would get pictures for a post today (Monday). But I finally had time to open the package and put together an outfit and get some indoor pictures taken. If I hadn't been so in love with the boots I might not have even done a post but I wanted you to see them.

OMG they are so comfortable and cute. They have a lower heel than I normally wear and the fabric on the legs is so perfect! Just delicious! I wore a light weight sweater that was loose and had fun sleeves that are bells with a tie. The ties are sewn on so you don't have to fuss with them.  It also has a cute split up the back that is fun. I put on a pair of skinny jeans and grabbed my leopard clutch to complete this outfit.

My nails weren't done and a mess because of cleaning and cooking and I had to try to pull my hair up to get it in some kind of order but you understand I am sure that it was urgent I get this post up! Duh, I'm such a nut! Ha Ha!

LIFE IN PHOENIX

My husband and I are having so much fun here in Phoenix. Our condo is small and nothing fancy but it is perfect for us to spend our time doing other things rather taking care of it. We've been hiking the nearby mountains and I have been getting runs in every other day. I still cook most of our meals because I love to cook but we get to eat on our patio. We have lovely neighbors from Canada that also spend most of their winters here.

I get to see my granddaughter often because they only live about 5 miles away. She is a delight and I never could have understood the love for a granddaughter until she came along. t's all good. We're spending Thanksgiving Day with our family and my heart is full of joy! I am so thankful and not just on Thanksgiving day but everyday!

The Business Of Life With Misook

MY OUTFIT

I've spent my share of a career working in universities, as a director of education, associate professor and associate dean. I know what it means to dress for success. I have learned that looking professional helps me feel professional and that people respond better when I am in a professional state of mind.

Now that I work at home I still have times when a professional look is needed for meetings and events. Misook meets all my needs in that regard with classic but modern professional dresses, jackets, tops, slacks and skirts.

This jacket and pants will be on repeat for me due to their beautiful style, quality, and easy care. The details are my favorite part of these pieces. The jacket has zippers on the sleeves and the pants have zippers on the ankles. The brilliant blues in this tweed style jacket are striking and show vibrantly in the sunlight. The fabric of the pants and jacket is a beautiful knit fabric that is machine washable, wrinkle, fade, and stretch resistant, breathable with no cling and a silky hand. I am truly in love!

Read more below about how I styled the pants for a casual evening at home and the jacket for a night out with friends.

Casual Evening At Home

I don't know about you but I like to relax the minute I get home from a busy day. The pants for this post are pull on pants and as soft and comfy as any leisure pants you will find. So when I get home, I would leave them on and change into a more casual top and a pair of flats or slippers. For my evening look below, I used a denim jacket as my top, slipped on my favorite pair of leopard flats and added a scarf to snuggle in as night falls. I mean, really? How cute is this look?

EVENING OUT WITH FRIENDS

There are times, at the end of the week when I like to celebrate successes with friends and colleagues. In this case I would wear the same jacket but change into a pair of dark jeans and tee. Casual shoes and a clutch for my lip stick and I am out the door!

When It Feels Right

MY OUTFIT

This outfit was created on one of those days when I had no idea what I wanted to wear. I just walked into my closet and looked around to see what struck me. My eye was drawn to this jacket that I have had so many years I don't even know where I got it. Of course it is a favorite due to the style with the tie front, the fall colors and the fun print. It is a perfect piece for fall. But what to go with it? I decided on a pair of skinny jeans and OTK boots. I wore a cream camisole under the jacket and carried a fringe clutch in a dark blue. For jewelry I wore a piece of Amber. I had no idea how this look would turn out but when all was said and done , it just felt right. And I have learned that when it feels right, go with it!

WHAT'S UP THIS WEEK?

I'm in Arizona enjoying the warmer climate. We are out and about every single day and in the evenings on our patio having dinner and glass of wine. We live in an area where everything you need is within walking distance so we try to walk everywhere and it feels so good.

I'm having a little trouble getting pictures because people are everywhere and the lighting is so different than what I am used to. So I am playing around searching for the best setting, etc.

I'm thinking of redesigning my blog. I do this each year about this time so it is ready by the new year. I get bored with the same old look but I also want it to be original so I'm not sure what I will do this year.

Thanks for stopping by!

Black Slacks For A Modern Look

MY OUTFIT

My Blogger Friend Jodie of www.JTouchofStyle.com recently did a post on styling black slacks. Jodie reminded me that a I had a few pair from my going into work at the office days. They are classic and I doubt I will ever get rid of them. This pair is oh so comfy, in a thick knit fabric that holds its shape and fits like a glove. They zip at the side so no bulk ANYWHERE! I need a thousand pairs in this style! I almost didn't want to take them off at the end of the day!

To complete my outfit I wore one of my many leopard cardigans, an item I kind of collect. I have them in all styles, shades and price ranges but my favorite right now is a new one I got at Old Navy! Yes, and it is a goodin! I wore a pair of black booties, one of my amber necklaces and carried a cream tote. This outfit would work for the office, a business dinner or for lunch with a friend! These pants will stay at the front of my closet for a while!

WHERE ON EARTH AM I?

I wrote this post in Idaho but by the time is goes live I will be in Arizona. I'm leaving a foot of snow behind to sit by the pool. If I can stand to put on a bathing suit. I have been eating like a bear getting ready to hibernate and need to lose at least 3 lbs. It's amazing how just a few pounds can make your pants tight and really show up on camera! Ugh!. Hopefully I can get back to a routine and tone down the beast a little.

I Love Blogging

MY OUTFIT

This outfit was built upon my blue suede booties. I got these last year when blue shoes were very trendy and I am so glad I did because I am still loving the look. I wore a pair of jeans, a camisole, a cocoon cardigan and a fisherman's hat for this look. I carried a clutch and wore my Amber necklace.

If you have been reading my blog you will have noticed I have been wearing different pieces of amber for the last several posts. I talk about how much this is my favorite stone often and recently have been having fun wearing some of the pieces of my collection.  Each piece is special to me because they were purchased while on different Mexico vacations with my husband.

ABOUT BLOGGING

I am a bit of a type A person. I have worked my whole life and everything I have taken on, I have been very serious about doing it right. Needless to say, I have never done much, just for fun, for me. And then along came blogging. For the first time in my life, I have a hobby. I used to be in awe of people who found time for a hobby and really believed my personality was such that I would never have one. But never say never because now I have a hobby that I love and that brings me simple joy. It encompasses so many things that I enjoy, mostly art. I am not good at any of it but I love creating outfits, taking photos and putting it all into a blog. I adore cooking and home making too and really want to get more into that at some point. That means there is no end to this happy place of mine.

I've Kissed A Lot Of Frogs

MY OUTFIT

It's true, I cannot tell a lie; I have kissed a lot of frogs. Hat and sun glasses frogs. I can't wear most hats well and most sun glasses don't look good on me. But let's face it, after all the years I've been looking (too many) I have finally found a couple of hat styles and sun glasses that I like.  I was excited about the beret I found (see here) but this Fisherman's hat is the CATS MEOW for me.

Fun, fun, fun! I wore it with a pair of Seven For All Mankind jeans (my fav jeans), a Free People off should sweater (another favorite brand) and an old pair of booties. I slung a leopard bag over my shoulder and grabbed my tassel belt and I felt positively Frenchish! P.S. I make up words often. Big Mark Twain fan, learned it from him.

ANYHOO

The fringe trend was so short lived for me. Surprising since I grew up when fringe was EVERYWHERE (60s/70s)! But I got these booties with fringe a few years ago and one clutch that had fringe and I was over it. I haven't worn these booties much but when I put them on with this outfit I thought, what the crap is wrong with me, these are ROCKIN boots. So they will be back on rotation for me.

Facing My Truth

MY OUTFIT

Well luvs, its time for me to face the truth. Winter has full on arrived. We had a little snow a week or so ago, but it warmed up and melted and everything was still green. But over the weekend in started snowing and it snowed so fast and hard that it knocked our power out for a few hours. I'm writing this on Saturday, a sunny but cold day (high 33) knowing that tomorrow we are getting more snow. Temperatures are going to remain cold so this snow will be here until spring.

So I'm going with it and pulling out the boots. I have lots of snow boots for here in the mountains, one for each day of the week! ha ha! This is a cute light colored pair so I wore them with white jeans and a fun little jacket. Cozy and fun is how this outfit turned out. I took a few pictures outside but my hands starting getting so cold I was driven inside near the fire.

WHAT TO DO

I love living in the mountains and the snow but only for a bit. So what do I do? Well having lived in Arizona for many years I know how nice the weather is in the winter and so we pack up and head south. I guess we are snowbirds! And that's ok because I can hike mountains, run outside and not freeze my buns off. We will be back here for our annual Christmas party that we host and a few weeks more of winter before we head back south until spring. I am so excited for this winter and plan to enjoy were I am, when I'm there! As for Christmas day, I will be hiking a mountain and maybe toasting the holiday with a little eggnog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Free People Thermal Top

MY OUTFIT

I am always looking for comfort wrapped in style and I found it with this thermal top by Free People. It is soft and roomy and has so many cute details. It is the perfect top to wear with leggings and boots that just hit the knee as I did in this outfit. This is the only thermal top I have right now but I am on the look for more because this is a top that can be worn in most of the seasons. For winter I will add a warm scarf and in the spring cropped jeans. A couple of rings, large hoop earrings and a tote and this outfit was complete.

One Trip Down

I just got back from my trip to Kansas City to visit family for about a week and now I am getting ready to go to Arizona for a month. I get homesick after a few weeks so we will be going back and forth this winter. Four weeks there, a few back here and then back to AZ again until spring. The countdown is on as we prepare for warmer sunny weather.

Red Leather Jacket For Fall Fashion

MY OUTFIT

I put this outfit together a while back for a link up I was doing. I wanted to share it in more detail. The jacket is such a favorite of mine. I got it several years ago in a consignment store. It is 100% leather and very high quality. I always love it when I find such a treasure. I wear it every year as the holidays get closer and the style options are never ending.

This time I wore black jeans and a colorful top with bell sleeves, my OTK boots and I carried a little black clutch. It was such a festive look and comfortable too.  The jacket is timeless and I am sure I will be styling it for many years to come.

TRAVEL UPDATE

I'm still traveling from one place to another but have my laptop and am being able to stay on top of blog things. I should be in one place soon and back to my normal routine. Happy Halloween BTW!

Pre-Holiday Style With A Red Silk Shirt

MY OUTFIT

I am having a hard time believing how close the holidays are. We hold our annual Christmas Party on December 16th and have already started Christmas shopping. We don't do much, I am not a big believer in the commercialization of Christmas but I like to get my grand kids and parents a gift. My husband and I pretty much host one Christmas party for friends and then ignore the rest of the chaos.  We spend Thanksgiving with family and then on Christmas you will find us hiking in Arizona.

I still like to celebrate the season with a few festive outfits. This red silk top is old but perfect for this time of year. I wore it with black jeans, leopard belt and nude heels. A big tote for toting and I am good to go!

A Fall Outfit For Date Night

MY OUTFIT

I wanted to put together a comfortable but semi dressy outfit for a night out and came up with this. The top has the most fun sleeves that are bell shaped, split with a tie. I also love the white with black stripes making it a top that can be worn so many ways. I added a pair of soft stretchy leggings and fun booties and a long cardigan. I didn't want to cover the sleeves with the cardigan so I pulled up the cardigan sleeves so the blouse sleeves peeked out. For jewelry I wore a long necklace and earrings. Of course I added my leopard clutch and that was that. I was ready to go out!

P.S. That is the care tag on the inside seam of my cardigan. I tried to cut it out but you can still see some of it. I had a person once think it was the price tag, although I have never seen a price tag on the inside seam of a garment.

OTHER LINK UPS

I'm proud to participate in the following link ups and am always looking for more! I love to start my day checking in with them and seeing what everyone is doing and connecting!I hope you will join us HERE!

Shoe Style & Still, A Beret

MY OUTFIT

So I got these shoes. I loved how they looked online and when other bloggers wore similar ones but somehow when I put them on I wasn't feeling it. I let them sit in the box for a day and tried again. And this time I was feeling it. I had to find the right kind of jean style for me for these shoes. And you know what? Once I found them I wish I had ordered a back up pair for when these wear out cause I'm thinking I'm going to be wearing them a lot!

My husband thought the wear fancy slippers! Ha Ha! I can see his confusion and in a way I hate to wear them outside of the house but I have a trip coming up and these will be my travel shoes. They are the most comfy and cute flats I own. I wore them with very old Levi's, a cami, a big comfy sweater and of course the one thing you may get sick of seeing, my beret!

TMI

These pictures are dark and as you know I am not a photographer but I do the best I can with my camera and tripod. It had been snowing for two days and I had no light so thus the dark photos. Today, as you read this post it will be sunny and in the 50s so almost like summer for us! Ha Ha. Soon I will be traveling to visit family in Kansas and I can't wait! Big plans!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!

A Girl & A Beret

First I saw a beret on @emillyanngemma and then on @simplysylviadc and now I may never take mine off! I don't look great in hats and I have a small head so they are usually too big. I bought this one and one in a cream color and the flood gates are open. I was able to get them in xsmall and by golly they fit! These are now my favorite hats!

I wore my hat with flared jeans and a old top, well everything I have on is old but the beret. I was totally having a few Mary Tyler Moore moments taking these photos. My next try is a cap I have been seeing. A page boy cap or similar style, so stay tuned!

NEWSFLASH

My internet was down all day Wednesday and most of the day Thursday. I barely got this post up. So I missed a couple of days of link ups and lots of commenting. I'll try to catch up!

My husband is drying a piece of plastic in the drive. Lovely background eh?
