Maxi Season

It's Maxi Season

Spring and summer are the times of year when I wear a maxi dress the most.

I was going through pictures and brutally deleting those that were awful. When I ran across these I knew I wanted to use them even though the lighting is not the best. Because this dress is crazy cute and comfortable.

It's made of the nicest quality knit, hangs perfectly and the colors are very vibrant and rich. It has slits on both sides up to the knee and is shorter so I can wear flat sandals with it making it perfect for hanging out in the summer.

You won't beleve where I got it

I got it last summer at Costco. That's right, they have cute clothes there too! And I went yesterday to see if they had them again and they do. I picked up another one in a beautiful Merlot color. Score!

I always try to dress for dinner, even when we eat at home. I make nice meals and love to celebrate the day in style. This dress has been perfect for dinners here in Arizona.

If you can't get to a Costco, here are some similar dresses, flip flops and bags for creating your own look! My flip flops are leather and I love to have a few in black and nude for casual outfits.

As always gang, thanks for stopping by!

Peace!

Here I Go-Go - Boots! & Style Wise Link Up

the scoop

Go-go boots are a low-heeled style of women's fashion boot first introduced in the mid-1960s. The original go-go boots, as defined by André Courrèges in 1964, were white, low-heeled, and mid-calf in height, a specific style which is sometimes called the Courrèges boot. Since then, the term go-go boot has come to include the knee-high, square-toed boots with block heels that were very popular in the 1960s and 1970s; as well as a number of variations including kitten heeled versions and colours other than white.  Source: Wikipedia

Do you remember go-go boots? I wore them on our dance team in junior and high school. The knee high white ones. What a geek! The white boots that are so trendy right now remind me of those days. I loved them then and I love them now.

I have been seeing white booties since last fall and thought I really wanted a pair but I needed them to not have a white heel because I live in the country where there is dirt, grass and rocks.  I also didn't want to spend a lot of money because I think they will go out of style in a few short seasons. So when I found this pair they met all my needs. So here I go-go!

my look

I got this fun gingham wrap dress late last summer on sale and then it got cold too quickly for me to wear it. I brought it down to Arizona with me because I figured I could style it here with the warm weather. I carried a white cross body bag by Rebecca Minkoff that is a few seasons old and then put on my boots! A simple, comfortable look!

create you own look

I've linked up my exact boots on sale and then lots of fun options for creating your own look!

I hope you will pop over to Fabulously Chic Over 50 where she did a feature on me today!

Prelude to Spring Fashion

create your look

Exact same jeans linked but I did a DIY raw hem to mine, same heels  and same belt linked and almost identical shirt linked. And then I found more adorable options and linked them too. Obsessed!

the scoop

I don't know about you but I am ready to start thinking and planning for spring fashion. I am already seeing spring colors everywhere and have read that pastels will be big. I am thinking I will be looking at lavender as my spring color. But for today I went into my closet and picked out some tried and true all year round pieces to see what I could come up with.

I'm also thinking about spring hair styles and what I want to do with mine. Remember the 80s? Well I am really into big hair right now. It sure takes me back! I am sticking with my current color and continuing to let it grow but spritzing in a little root boost to add a little fullness and boom! Big hair!

my outfit

I'm wearing white jeans and a chambray shirt. I added a fun printed belt, a trend the seems to be popular now and I love it. Then I put on my orange pumps. The bag is old but added a hint of spring to the look.
