Plum Thermal Top

THE OUTFIT

This plum colored thermal top is several seasons old and it is a favorite. It is a rich autumn color, and just the right weight for days that are starting to be cooler. I wore it with skinny jeans and a pair of suede nude pumps. I carried my leopard bag because it just adds so much to a fall look like this. For jewelry I wore a layered necklace that is a favorite right now and hoop earrings. This was an easy low key outfit for a day when I wasn't feeling so joyous.

A TIME FOR PRAYERS

I wasn't really feeling like doing a post today. I watched the news all day and got so sad about the loss people were bound to be suffering. At the hour of 7 PM Mountain time it seems the storm surge may not be as catastrophic as first thought. Thank goodness. I am thankful for the coverage the news did in trying to get everyone to be careful and safe. But it is a relief that things may end up not being as bad as first thought. Mostly I worried about loss of life. I pray that no one lost their life due to Irma.

Tassel and Tuck

THE OUTFIT

I have been putting tops and things I got early in the spring on major rotation for different looks. Summer is almost over here and I want to enjoy all the fun summer clothes in my closet. I wore this top in early spring here. I was wearing skinny jeans and for this post I am wearing the top with my beloved flares. I added my belt with a tassel, tan mules with the rope heels and carried my Ark bag. I layered some delicate necklaces and wore my signature silver hoop earrings for jewelry. I could wear this outfit everyday, I love it so much.

Graphic Tee On Mules

THE OUTFIT

For a while I had decided that graphic tees didn't look good on me and that I was too old for them. But this summer when I saw so many women rocking their tees I decided that all I needed to do was find tees that said something I could stand behind. This tee is one of those! I love naps! I can take a 20 minute power nap and feel great until bedtime! I paired this tee with skinny jeans and nude mules and a fun bag and it all came together so nicely! For jewelry I layered a couple of necklaces, my watch and added earrings and that felt like enough.

THE TEE FIND

You all know by now that I live in a little country town in the mountains. We don't have many stores and only a couple of boutiques or clothing stores. But the local grocery store and drug store help fill the need by selling a few clothes. I got this tee and a couple of other fun ones at our drug store. They are light weight and so soft and hang so nice. And they washed perfectly with no shrinking. Good find on my part! I love wearing all three that I bought for $12. each. It just goes to show if you love clothes you can find them somewhere!

Summer Nautical

THE OUTFIT

I wish you could see this top up close. It is a tunic tank in a deep navy color with little anchors all over. So adorable! I added white skinny jeans, navy wedge sandals, a white denim jacket and a navy fringed clutch. As usual I wore my big hoop earrings, and layered my delicate necklaces. Everything is old but you can definitely recreate this outfit if you want a nautical look. Start with cropped white pants, a navy or red top, a fun denim or canvas jacket and you are good to go!

RECENT Outing

Last Saturday I met up with a gal pal and we participated in a local walk/run for charity. It was called the Huckleberry Trot and it was held in a tiny town down the road from us. It was a beautiful morning in the mountains and afterwards we went to lunch at Bistro 45 for an amazing spinach salad. We had such a good time catching up and talked so much it almost wore me out more than the walk. Ha Ha! We got to eat outside in the most lovely environment. If you are ever in McCall I would recommend eating at the Bistro 45.

I was worried about being outside exercising because for the past couple of weeks the Northwest has been enveloped in smoke due to fires all over the place. It has been so bad that I only go out early in the day and I keep the house closed up all day and night. Where we live it stays so cool we have never had to use air conditioning and we still haven't needed it this year. My house stays cool enough that I usually wear a cardigan all day while inside. I try to do my hikes or runs early in the day but many days by the end of the day, I am dizzy and light headed from the smoke. I think we are about out of it for this year (this is an annual thing) so I am looking forward to our fresh pine scented air again soon.

My gal pal and I decided to plan an outing. We live about a four hour drive from Sun Valley, ID and we have heard there is an amazing consignment store there so we are going on a day trip soon. We are both excited!

NEW PINTEREST GROUP BOARD

I wanted to share with you a new group board on my Pinterest! I love Pinterest as many of us do but it seems as in many things, it is more represented by the young and fabulous in the fashion and style genre. I am moving to make a change and created a group board titled Style Wise. Check it out here. It was just created and needs some more inspiration so if you are a fashion and style blogger and would like to be a contributor let me know via northwestmountainliving@gmail.com. I would love to have more Style Wise women help me show brands and society our value and relevance!
