Closing Day!

What to wear

to a house closing

the scoop

A couple of things here goin' on. Maybe three . . . It's closing day on the house in the city and I am so excited. But I'm almost as excited about these jeans. I mean they are hands down my favorite pair for summer. So boho, so comfy, so me! But wait there's more! This top with these jeans is crazy my loves! CRAZY!

But back to the house. I am headed down with a big truck load of stuff, doing the final walk through and picking up the keys. I will spend the night in a sleeping bag. Ugh. Because bright and early in the morning some of my furniture is being delivered. So a fun little camp-out for me!  Think giant pizza on the floor, TV hooked up to rabbit ears. Ha ha! But it's the beginning of fun projects of putting together our place. My husband will follow along shortly after. He is the president of the Idaho Aviation Association, McCall Chapter and the annual fly-in is tomorrow and he has to be there for that. Then he and the fur babies will be on their way to help because its all hands on deck this weekend.

just a bit of

my look

These jeans went out of stock in most sizes when I first wrote this post, then they were restocked but I am sure they will sell out again really fast. I snatched up a second pair as soon as I saw them available.  This top is so boho! You can wear it like a peasant blouse or off the shoulders. I mean how fun it that? My shoes are old but perfect low heeled sandals in orange and tan. The fun little bag was a thrift find and I love it! My layered necklace is old too. It's hard to see but it had a pineapple and star and other beach type things.

Linking more fun tops and sandals.

Favorite Spring Designer

Johnny Was here!

Every spring the first things I want to style are my Johnny Was tops! As seen here, (the yellow again) here, (the white), here (the blue) and here (my favorite in the red).

I don't buy a lot of higher end clothing, but this is one brand that I have invested in a few times. These pieces are timeless and make me feel all spring and summery. They are good quality and covered in the most beautiful embroidery. I always choose brilliant colors like this yellow. I also have a red one, a navy one and a white top by this designer. This tunic is long sleeved but you can pull them up and button into three quarter length.  Johnny Was tops are light weight so perfect for the full spring and summer here in the mountains. They also pack  beautifully for vacations because they don't wrinkle much and when you hang them the few wrinkles there, just fall out.

Here are a few beautiful options for creating your own look.

The colors are so vibrant!

And the fabric is so soft and they are the perfect weight so they flow around your body without adding bulk.

I wore mine with my flares for that bohemian look that I love. I wore platform shoes because I am a huge fan of the height they give me while being so comfortable. I wore my turquoise Baublebar earrings to complete this look.

I got all my tops from the Johnny Was website but you can get them other places online. Here are some more beautiful options along with my jeans and shoes for you to check out.

Bohemian Song

shop my look

I'm wearing a Free People top, it's old. I found one similar only way more gorgeous here. SP Black ripped knee jeans, mine are old but found exact pair here. I have on a Free People scarf, it still comes in two colors here, I have the blue too and it is gorgeous. Bag is really old. Boots are Steve Madden Boots here. I love them so much I have them in black too. More options to create your own look linked below.

the scoop

Some times my titles have nothing to do with anything. This time it  half way relates to this post. To me this look is total boho. A style that is as hated by some as it is loved by others, including me. I guess since I am child of the 70s and lived through this style and loved it then, I still love it now. It is casual relaxed and interesting.

my outfit

As I've said recently I am using what I have in my closet and cutting way back on new clothing purchases. I have everything I need to have fun. With this outfit I knew I wanted to wear this Free People top that I have had a few years now. It is the perfect example of boho style. It is over sized and flows around the body. With it I wore some ripped jeans, another boho trend. Wearing my scarf like a shawl is also a look you would have seen in the 70s. I topped it all off with my OTK boots and little bag.
